concept for for "Aethier"
character description: Kensaki Kashou

Height: 6’1’’ (6’4’’ when wearing Geta)
Weight: 182 lbs
Apparent Age: 26 yrs
Hair Color: Dark brown, almost black
Eye Color: Blue gray; the color of ice

Body: Kensaki’s body is lean and muscular, with little bulk. His skin is somewhat pale, as though he does not see a great deal of sunlight.

Hair: Kensaki’s hair is long, reaching past his shoulders and partway down his back. He wears it pulled into a loose ponytail with a few shorter, chin length locks allowed to hang loosely on either side of his face.

Face: Kensaki’s face is youthful and unlined, with a smallish mouth and thin lips. His eyes are slightly larger than normal. His eyebrows are thin and arched, with a slight downward tilt that perpetually makes him appear slightly annoyed. His face might be considered handsome were it not for his general lack of expression, giving his features a constant somber and somewhat inhuman cast. His eyes are the only thing that appear out of the ordinary; their ice blue gaze contains an unsettling quality that shows the weight of the centuries Kensaki has lived, despite his youthful appearance.

Clothing: Simple dark gray kimono with black sleeveless haori (coat) worn over the top, trimmed in silver. He wears a 3-4’’ wide silver obi (sash), through which his sword and scabbard are worn. For footwear, Kensaki wears Geta (platformed sandals) with two 3” platforms on each.

Sword: Kensaki’s sword, Dusk, is a nihonto, resembling a long katana with a slightly greater curve to the blade. An average katana has a blade that is generally between 25” and 28”, with a Tsuka (handle) approximately 9” long. Dusk’s blade is 35”, with a 12” Tsuka. The steel of the blade has a smoky quality to it, appearing to be a normal, steel gray color in some lights and much darker in others. The sword is relatively unornamented. The Tsuka is wrapped in black, with small silver diamonds showing in the center where the cloth crosses. The Tsuba (guard) is a standard oval, also black."

Wow... This is absolutely amazing. I've been looking over your art for the past several days after searching "Samurai" on DA to get some ideas. Today, I checked back for a new piece and saw this. I can't even explain how awing your artwork is. :)

Dude very nice. I know it's a small detail but I love the way you have his kimono (is that the right word?) going over the sheath and all raised up and everything.
